New iPhone 15 stuck on iOS 18 Update - Apple Community
Sep 23, 2024 · I'm having the same problem - have spent hours trying to get my new phone working today. I have an iphone 15 pro being updated from an iphone se which is running ios 17.6.1. The new phone is trying to install/update ios 18 and it keeps glitching in the way dore38 explains very clearly above.

Dec 11, 2024 · FYI, here is what I see in Software Update on an iPhone 12 mini that is running iOS 17.7. Here is what I see in the Finder, when running macOS Ventura 13.7.1. I do not know what would happen if I clicked "Check for Update" – whether iTunes would then notice that iOS 18.2 was available, or if it would just check for a later release of iOS 17.

Sep 26, 2024 · Is your iPhone 15 Pro, by any chance, already on iOS 17.7? If it is, the Software Update screen will just display "iOS 17.7 / iOS 17 is up to date", and an option at the bottom of the screen to update to iOS 18. That's what my iPhone is showing, now that I've updated it from the latest version of iOS 16 to the latest version of iOS 17.
