2014年8月25日 · Thanks for the replies. The spot that I have picked out is about 50 feet from the front of the cabin. It will definitely be seen. The comments here starting to sway me to the stick built garage route. Similar to the cabin. I didn't know that the life span of the shipping container was only 10 years. And who knows how old they are when you buy them.

Is the proposed building going to be a storage shed or is the plan to build a building to fall within the shed size square footage, but then use it as a habitable building? Is this to be a true storage shed (non habitable) I believe the 200 sq ft as mentioned on the county website is correct for that county.

2011年1月6日 · My idea is to dig a hole, pour some concrete for a solid base, set a 20' shipping container in the hole, anchor it to the concrete, and fill in the empty space around the container. Access would be through a hatch installed in the top of the container.

2025年1月28日 · Jason, the plan is to do everything but the spray foam insulation myself. You were right about the rainy days, but it looks like the sun may be returning. Still need to backfill and I've been keeping busy emptying the moving trailer into the shipping container. Hopefully the weather holds. Thanks for following along.

2014年4月24日 · Bummer but Interesting and the wheels of progress grind to more of a halt. How many shipping containers are used for storage sheds that are not fastened to the ground. I could see them wanting the info on how you plan to have trusses fastened to the two containers. IE brackets welded for each truss and bolted. They run it by the county engineer.
