In Top Gear, a BBC motoring show, one of the show's regular features since 2002 is various forms of racing the presenters undertake, either against each other or against invited guests.

The show regularly features various races. There have been a number of epic races where Jeremy or one of the other presenters drives a car against other forms of transport, typically involving Richard and James taking the same journey by combinations of plane, train or ferry.

The Race to the North is an episode of Top Gear that featured a three-way race held in 2009 between a Jaguar XK120 car, a Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle, and railway locomotive 60163 Tornado – a brand new mainline steam engine completed in Britain in 2008.
