Ahmed was the first hakim of Bahrain and the progenitor of the ruling Al Khalifa family of Bahrain. All of the Al Khalifa rulers of Bahrain are his descendants. Ahmed had four children.

Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Arabic: سَلمَان بن حَمَد بن عِيْسى آل خَلِيْفَة, romanized: Salmān bin Ḥamad bin ʿĪsā Āl Khalīfa; born 21 October 1969) [1] is Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain. He is also the deputy supreme commander of the Bahrain Defence Force. [2]

Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa is a member of the Bahraini ruling family. He is the current Minister of Finance and National Economy. [1] Salman got a bachelor of science degree in 1999 in investments and economics from Babson College. [2] He worked at UBS investment bank in United Kingdom from 2000 to 2005.
