Raanjhanaa (transl. Beloved one), released in Tamil as Ambikapathy[3] is a 2013 Indian Hindi -language romantic drama film directed by Aanand L. Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma. The film is produced by Krishika Lulla under the banner of Eros International.

Set in Benaras, in a sense, the heart of India, the first half in the vibrant city where the Ganges flows, just sweeps you off your feet with its colour and feel. Kundan Shankar (Dhanush) is the only son of a Tamil Hindu parents settled in Varanasi.

Since his childhood days, Kundan has had a strong one-sided love for Zoya Haider (played by Sonam Kapoor), a Muslim girl residing in Varanasi whose father is a professor. Being kids and having crushes makes it pointless but a few years later, Kundan is steadfast in his love for Zoya.
