2022年7月20日 · This is other wise a Bortle Scale 2 site where the last time I visited I had seen the Milky Way first hand and it was spectacularly detailed. That visit was around the new moon (it was a waning crescent phase and we were stargazing before moonrise). This time around I am wondering if the visit is worth it for the stargazing given the moon phase.

Since we are in december, if you are in the Northern hemisphere, it won't be possible to see it since it will be below the horizon all night long. The blood moon can't possibly be on a timer as the time speed up, from sleeping at inns or sitting by fires, would interfere with that. I've also had nights with a full moon all night but no blood moon. This has happened multiple times while waiting for one of the dragons to show up when their spawn times switch to after 10pm.
