If you want a bot to join the server itself, it could use the invite link to get the server and DM the server owner (that can be found using the property) a OAuth link for the bot.

For the most part running the bot in the terminal and keeping Visual Studio minimized on the tray actually works out because I live in the same time zone as my friends so at night I can turn the bot off.
