2018年2月28日 · Temperature and humidity within the Apollo Command Module was controlled with a system of heat exchangers, electrical heaters and water-glycol (62.5 % ethylene glycol and 37.5 % water) coolant loops. The coolant loop was used to cool the electronics mounted on cold plates and also the atmosphere of the capsule.

There were attenuator struts to reduce the landing shock. When the capsule hit the water, the attenuators extended and the couches moved down.

The main parachutes don't deploy until around 2 miles altitude, and the capsule is still coming down at about 22 miles per hour at splashdown, so it's easy to see that even in very high winds it couldn't be blown off course by more than a small number of miles.

2020年7月29日 · Source: APOLLO EXPERIENCE REPORT COMMAND MODULE UPRIGHTING SYSTEM. Crew relocations within the capsule were studied to be used in case of a single bag failure. The recovery diver team was trained to upright the capsule in case of a dual or triple bag failure. The emergency CM uprighting was trained in the ocean using boilerplates.

Apollo entry guidance could fly either controlled skip or direct entry trajectories, depending on the range to the landing site.

Apollo had a skip entry capability, which though never used was available for use to increase access to alternate landing sites. A very carefully controlled skip, using the lifting guidance of the Apollo capsule, could result in a safe second entry much further downrange. $\endgroup$ –
