Bill Baird (born June 20, 1932) is a reproductive rights pioneer, called by some media the "father" of the birth control and abortion-rights movement. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] He was jailed eight times in five states in the 1960s for lecturing on abortion and birth control. [ 4 ]

The lecturer, William Baird, was convicted of conduct related to both the lecture and the distribution of the contraceptive materials. On appeal, the conviction related to the lecture was overturned, but the conviction related to the distribution was upheld.

Bill Baird (born 1932) is a reproductive rights activist who operated women’s health clinics and initiated several legal cases to secure women’s rights to contraception and abortion.
