Before NetEase superhero-landed on the scene in December with a Marvel-based hero shooter that has captured the hearts of millions, Overwatch 2 had already been in a state of decline. The sequel has failed to deliver on pretty much any of its promises of being a robust follow-up with PvE elements and a real story,

Marvel Rivals may be taking the spotlight from Overwatch 2, but this conflict may save Overwatch in the long run.

While a majority of this announcement was centered around previous patches made to OW2, the developers did tease some changes in the form of a 6v6 ranked playtest. They are “not ready to swap the core format of the game,” so they are testing out 6v6 for a limited time during the middle of the next season.
