It may not be surprising to see someone wearing red but there's an extra meaning behind people wearing that color Friday. The first Friday of February every year is National Wear Red Day, a holiday that aims to raise awareness about women's heart health.

The national day of wearing red was started over twenty years ago asking women to wear red in order to bring awareness to hearth health which is the number one killer of women.

Feb. 7 is National Wear Red Day, dedicated to raising awareness about women's heart health during Heart Month.
