Visitors to the park can experience the unique thrill of sandboarding or sand sledding on the massive dunes, with equipment that is easily available for rent in Alamosa town a few miles away.

The Great Sand Dunes Oasis RV Park was our second choice for camping in and around Alamosa, but it was kicked out of the running for us because it doesn’t have a pool.
