Asus ROG Phone 9 FE makes gaming phones a little more accessible
Asus has announced its first-ever Fan Edition gaming phone, the Asus ROG Phone 9 FE. At least that’s what we assume FE means, going by Samsung’s use of the term. We’ve not seen any other brands use it and Asus doesn’t outright explain the abbreviation.

ASUS debuted its budget ROG Phone 9 FE in Taiwan today (Feb 5). The device features similar specs to its flagship siblings, like a 6.7-inch FHD Plus screen, a 50MP primary lens, but it contains the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device is on sale in Taiwan for THB 29,999, which is roughly $894.

While US pricing and availability information aren’t available yet, the ROG Phone 9 FE (16GB/256GB) sells for ฿29,990 ($894) in Thailand, while the ROG Phone 9 Pro (16GB/512GB) is ฿39,990 ($1192) and the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition (24GB/1TB) is ฿49,990 ($1490).

The camera system is borrowed from the ROG Phone 9 and Indian ROG Phone 8, featuring a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX890) with gimbal stabilization, a 13MP ultrawide lens with a free-form design, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera with an RGBW color filter to enhance low-light shots.
