Residents in the Midwest and Northeast residents are bracing for another winter storm with heavy snowfall. And another system of severe weather is expected to pummel portions of the nation Monday into Wednesday of next week.

A powerful winter storm has millions of people across at least 22 states from the Midwest to the Northeast on alert for a widespread threat of freezing rain.

Parts of the Midwest, Great Lakes and north-east US are bracing for disruptive wintry weather on Thursday. Warnings have been issued for a large swathe of the country, extending from Oklahoma to New York for hazardous conditions, caused by low pressure sweeping cold air across the region.
