A 16-year-old in Gastonia was charged in the murder of another teenager on Sunday night. Gastonia police said a 16-year-old was shot on North Chester Street near Los Arcos on Jan. 26. The teen was later identified by family as Zaquavious Dawkins.

GASTONIA, N.C. — Zaquavious Dawkins, 16, was fatally shot near the Ganesha Food Mart on North Chester Street in Gastonia on Sunday night, officials said. First responders discovered the victim around 6 p.m. Family members said Dawkins was shot three times while running errands for his mother.
